Mani/Pedi

#29. Get a pedicure

I was told that getting a pedicure some how onsets labor, so I looked it up and found that its because massaging the area between your ankle bone and heel can trigger contractions. I think this is VERY odd, but it's straight out of whattoexpect.com so I guess it's leggit! When I read this I was very tempted to start massaging away, but I'm just going to wait for Maggie to come when she's ready. Anyways, today I went and got a manicure and pedicure. It was very relaxing and just what I needed. Please excuse the nasty swollen feet in the picture and focus on the pretty nails :)

Baby Shower #2

Last Sunday my sister, Ashley, and Eric's sister, Jennifer, threw us a couples baby shower. Despite the threat of rain a lot of people came and it turned out to be great! I got tons of great stuff and I was very excited to meet some of Eric's extended family.

The guys that came were troopers...my dad even decided to see what this baby shower stuff was all about, but he quickly found where the guys were hanging out!

I was also VERY excited to see some of my friends from Georgia.

THANK YOU ASHLEY AND JENNIFER FOR A GREAT SHOWER!

Doctor Appointment

So today I went to the doctor for my 37 week appointment and was VERY surprised to find out that I am 3 cm dialated! I guess Maggie is as ready to get here as I am to meet her! It's a good thing I had a huge burst of energy this week and got everything ready for her. I checked a bunch off my list.

#8: Organize and put away all the gift from my showers
#9: Make a list of things I still need to buy after my showers
#10: Buy those things
#13: Pick out an outfit for Maggie to come home in
#27: Sterilize bottles
#28: Wash baby clothes and bedding
#30: Pack a bag for the hospital
#33. Get pjs to wear while in the hospital
#34: Pack Maggie's bag for the hospital

Check. Check. Check. I guess this is what people mean by nesting! I have been going non-stop in Maggie's room all week.

I'm not going to get my hopes up though...I'm sure it will still be a while before she gets here. But I just thought I would share!

37 Weeks

Today Maggie is officially full-term! The doctor said that she seems to be average size, but it's still so cramped in there.  Of course I'm ready to meet her, but I'm also looking foward to simple things like being able to completely fill my lungs with air and walk without waddling! It still seems surreal that she will be here by the end of the month. Other than the fact that I feel like she is about to fall out of me, I feel pretty good! Some days are better than others, but overall I think I've had a very easy and comfortable (as comfortable as you can be pregant) pregnancy.  Her bag is packed and her room is ready for her, so now all I can do is wait!

Baby Shower #1

Sunday was my first baby shower.  My mom and Memaw through it as a joint shower for me and Ashley. I had a blast and got TONS of cute stuff.

the yummy finger food

Memaw made me this adorable chest to go under Maggie's window. I don't have a picture of it in her room yet but I will get one up soon!

The wonderful hostesses and the preggos...and of course AR.

Memaw made Maggie some letters to go above her crib and a bow hanger to put on the wall.

My mom got me this diaper bag. I love it! I've had a hard time finding one. I'm happy to say I can check #17 off my list.

Mom also got me these baskets to go under the changing table and she made these two burp cloths. Mom and Memaw are definitely the most creative women I know!

There's lots more but I can't put up pictures of it all! I've had fun sorting through the new baby girl clothes. Thanks everyone for all the cute stuff!

36 Weeks

Whattoexpect.com says that Maggie should now weigh about 6 pounds. Her growth will start slowing down so she can store up energy needed for delivery.  All her systems are almost fully matured so she's about ready to be born!  The whole time I've been pregnant I've thought that I wanted her to come right when I was full term (37 weeks), but I still have so much to do before she gets here so I'm hoping she'll hang out atleast until 39 weeks! She has definitely settled down which is a nice break from her constant kicking that I've been use to, and her head and feet have been in the same position all week. Nights have been long and restless but I'm thankful that has just now started since I don't have too much longer to go! In just a few weeks all the discomfort will be over and it will have been worth it!
